[Call for Curators] NCAC’s 8th Annual Curatorial Workshop: Curating from the Blacklist

The National Coalition Against Censorship is excited to announce that our next Curatorial Workshop will take place in Los Angeles on October 15! These in-person professional development opportunities equip curators with tools and strategies to present challenging or sensitive subject matter in their exhibitions.

NCAC’s 8th Annual Curatorial Workshop: Curating from the Blacklist

This year’s workshop will look at how curators are navigating pressures to avoid specific topics and themes disfavored by the government. Presented in partnership with the Japanese American National Museum and the National Center for the Preservation of Democracy, the workshop encourages active participation among a small group of arts colleagues. It will feature a keynote from Clement Hanami (Japanese American National Museum) and case studies presented by Alisha Kerlin (Barrick Museum of Art, University of Las Vegas), John Spiak (Grand Central Art Center), and Hamza Walker (The Brick).
