Kosmos Contemporary Venice APS, in collaboration with Marignana Arte, presents the second edition of the Berlendis Venice Art Prize, an international open call for artists of all nationalities. The 2027 theme, “Have We Crossed the Threshold? A Journey Beyond Borders, Identities and Languages,” invites artists to reflect on crossing as an aesthetic, political, cultural, inner, and existential act.
A jury of contemporary art professionals will select 20 finalists: 10 artists for the Emergent section and 10 artists for the Contemporary section. Finalists will participate in a group exhibition at Spazio Berlendis, a 300-square-metre exhibition space in the Cannaregio district of Venice. The exhibition will run from February 20 to March 21, 2027, and will be accompanied by a dedicated publication.
The prize is open to a wide range of contemporary media, including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, collage, sculpture, installation, textile art, and video art. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners of both sections, and five special exhibition prizes will also be offered through partner galleries and cultural spaces.
